What we prepare

Music admission tests in Colombia usually assess these components. Each university combines and weighs them differently.

How it works

  1. Assessment

We review your current level, the university and program you’re aiming for, and the test date.

  2. A week-by-week plan

We build a plan leading up to the test date, with clear goals for theory, ear training and your instrument.

  3. Lessons with teachers

Theory, sight-singing and dictation with music theory teachers, and your instrument with a teacher who plays it.

  4. Mock exams

You practice dictation, sight-reading and your audition in conditions close to the real test.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should I start preparing?

It depends on your starting point. If you already read music and play with ease, a few months of focused work may be enough; if you’re starting from scratch in theory and dictation, it’s best to give yourself more time. We give you an honest recommendation in the assessment.

How much does pre-university prep cost?

There are three packages: monthly (8 classes of 90 minutes, two per week, with one mock exam), a 4-week intensive (12 classes, with one mock exam and one mock audition), and a full semester, paid in advance. See the prices under packages and pricing.

Does it work if I’m self-taught?

Yes. Many applicants play very well by ear but have never studied theory or dictation. The plan focuses on exactly what you’re missing for the music admission test.

Can I prepare if I live outside Bogotá?

Yes. Theory, sight-singing and dictation lessons work very well online, and your instrument can also be worked on over video call. See how our online lessons work.

Does the prep guarantee I’ll pass the test?

No, and be wary of anyone who promises that. Admission depends on the university, the number of places and how you perform on test day. Our goal is for you to arrive with your skills well practiced and no surprises. We’re not affiliated with any university.

Is it the same as a university’s own prep course?

No. Some universities run their own prep or continuing-education programs. Our lessons are private and tailored to your level, your schedule and the test you’re taking. We explain it in what a pre-college music program is.

Would you rather we message you?

Leave your name and WhatsApp number. We'll message you to understand what you're looking for and recommend teachers and times. No commitment.
