Teacher evaluation for music teaching teams

The best teams aren’t hired, they’re developed. We observe your music teachers’ real lessons, evaluate them with a musical and teaching rubric, and turn what we see into concrete feedback and a development plan for each teacher and for the department.

Frequently asked questions

Is the evaluation meant for letting teachers go?

That’s not its purpose. It’s designed to develop the team: it identifies strengths, sets training priorities and creates a shared standard. How the results are used is up to your institution.

Do teachers know they’ll be observed?

Yes. We recommend announcing the process ahead of time and sharing the rubric: the evaluation works best when teachers see it as support.

Can you evaluate group, band or choir lessons?

Yes. The rubric adapts to the format: one-on-one lessons, groups, ensembles, band, choir or early childhood music.

How often should the evaluation be repeated?

Many institutions do it once per term or once a year, to measure progress against the development plan.
