Music teacher candidate assessment

Your HR team knows how to screen résumés, but judging bowing technique, an embouchure or how someone corrects a six-year-old takes a musician’s ear. You send us your finalists and teachers from the same instrument family assess them, using a clear rubric.

Ideal for

  • Institutions with an HR department that needs an expert musical filter.
  • Academic coordinators torn between two or three finalists.
  • Hiring processes with many applicants that need a quick shortlist.
  • Open calls for band, choir or arts education programs.

What's included

  • An assessment rubric agreed on with your institution.
  • Audition: a piece of their choice, sight-reading and accompaniment when relevant.
  • A sample lesson with real or simulated students at the level and age of your groups.
  • A structured teaching interview.
  • In-person evaluation in Bogotá or online by video call.
  • Individual report and comparative ranking.

How it works

  1. You tell us about the role

Instrument, ages, group sizes and what matters most to you in a teacher.

  2. We tailor the rubric

We set the criteria and weights so the assessment measures what your institution needs.

  3. Evaluamos

Every candidate does the same audition, the same sample lesson and the same interview.

  4. You get the report

Scores, strengths, red flags and a clear recommendation to help you decide.

What you get for each candidate

  • A score for each rubric criterion
  • Notes from the audition and the sample lesson
  • Strengths and areas to develop
  • Recommendation: move forward, move forward with reservations, or don’t move forward

Frequently asked questions

Who assesses the candidates?

Teachers from our network with experience in music education. We make sure the assessor plays an instrument from the same family as the candidate.

Can the assessment be done online?

Yes. The audition, interview and sample lesson can be done over video call, so we can assess candidates outside Bogotá. For instruments where live sound is key, we recommend an in-person assessment.

How many candidates can you assess?

Anything from a single finalist to an entire open call. For large processes, we combine a short pre-screening with a full assessment of the strongest profiles.

What happens to the candidates’ data?

We only process it with their consent and for the purpose of the hiring process, in line with Colombia’s Law 1581 of 2012. Results are shared only with your institution.
